Sphere Global is currently operating in 18 countries and designs and manufactures engineering solutions.  The company was started by Sean McNicholl who hails from Limavady.  Sean says, "Anybody that comes to us, comes with a problem; it starts as a sketch, then it becomes a factory layout, then it converts into a 3D layout, so everyone in the company can understand what is happening with the project at any stage. In Sphere Global, everything is done inhouse; the electrical design, the mechanical design, the software design, the welding, all of the building is done here too."

The company delivers for some of largest electronic consumer brands in the US and Saudi Arabia.  All this happens from their base in Campsie.

Sean points out that with countries like India spending £4 trillion in the next four years on hospitals, homes and schools, there is huge demand for expertise such as that provided by Sphere Global.  He also suggests that in order to do this, jobs must be carried out fast, "This is the fastest storage retrieval system that there is in the world."  Machines at Sphere Global run at 70 mph.  According to Sean, "There is nothing like this in the market, we continually break the trend and design something faster."

Giving back and preparing the future generation for advances in technology, Sean says, “Automation is the second fastest growing sector in the world at present and it is important to me to make the students aware of the opportunities within this field. It inspires me to see the level of interest from all the students, as they are our future.“

Arklu is better known for the globally successful Lottie Doll.  It's creator Ian Harkin likes to keep his feet firmly set in Letterkenny, with ever-expandng offices at the CoLab in LYIT.  Ian with his business partner Lucie Follett, created a doll unlike any other.

Lottie is based on the scientific proportions of a 9 year old.  She doesn't wear make up, jewellery or make up.  Lottie is an activity based doll with fans all over the world.  Currently Stargazer Lottie is in space with British European Space Agency astronaut Tim Peake.  It's true to say, that she is officially the first doll in space!

Arklu also designed the William and Kate dolls to commemorate the royal wedding with special permission from Clarence House.

One parent commented that, "I have two daughters and have been searching for ages for a doll just like Lottie.  A doll my daughters can relate to rather than an impossible image they feel they must live up to."

Ian is very keen to inspire students and regularly speaks to schools about his experience.
