SANDWICH CO. VISIT ST. COLUMB’S COLLEGE

Business Studies students at St. Columb’s College benefitted from the experience and business knowledge of the Sandwich Co. Students were treated to entrepreneurial insight from a business that started its days in a garage! Now there are 11 outlets!

LISNEAL COLLEGE VISIT DERRY VISITOR CONVENTION BUREAU

As part of their Travel and Tourism studies, students spent time examining the industry in Derry-Londonderry. Students learned about tourism growth and the exciting developments within the industry each year.

 ENGINEERING SOLUTIONS AT THORNHILL COLLEGE

Students from Thornhill College gained female insights to engineering from Dupont and Seagate.  Students learned about life as an engineer and relevant subjects to study seeing for themselves that engineering is not necessarily a ‘man’s job’.

 SEAGATE WELCOME THORNHILL COLLEGE

Advances in technology were the topic of a visit from Thornhill College to Seagate.  Year 10 students gained an insight into Technology and Engineering, even trying on a cleanroom suit!

 ST. COLUMB’S AT NI FIRE AND RESCUE SERVICE

It was exciting for Year 11 students to visit the NIFRS this month.  Students got hands on with cutting equipment and breathing apparatus.  During the visit, fire-fighters highlighted the dangers of anti-social behaviour and attacks on fire-fighters in the course of duty.  Students also heard about the importance of defibrillators and making themselves familiar with where they are placed within the school.

 DOMINICAN COLLEGE VISIT SEAGATE

We were delighted to welcome students from Dominican College to Seagate.  Students were treated to a tour of the facility, and also had some fun along the way!

 THORNHILL COLLEGE VISIT COOLKEERAGH

Students braved the cold and got to grips with safety hats and bibs to investigate electricity generation and the importance of a 24/7 operation.
